Musical for 2010-2011

                                                     

There is a mandatory musical Parent meeting on Tuesday, August 31 from 6:30pm -7:30pm in the Black Box Theatre, C102.

Any CPHS student may participate in the production. We will also include some middle school students and elementary students in this production.  If you like to sing, dance, act, do technical work or just want to improve your skills in any of these areas, please join us.  The purpose of auditions is to place you in your singing group, dancing group and to determine character roles.  Noone will be cut that is a student at CPHS.  There is room for everyone in some capacity. 

Scripts are in C102.  I do have some CD's. Bring me a new blank CD in a cover and you can have a burned CD of the music.

You will be learning a new dance style for one of the numbers: Samba!
 
Musical Information/Process: 
  • Scripts are available in C102. 
  • Everyone that wants to be in the musical will be in it.  Director will not cut anyone.
  • The auditions are only to determine roles, dance placement and singing placement. Auditions will begin the week before school starts and will continue the first two days after school starts. Dates and times will be announced on this site after I meet with my Production Team. 
  • The production cost is $100. Musicals are not funded by the school district.  This $100 gives the Technical Director funds to start purchasing building materials for the set.
  • The costume fee is $100 (most costumes will be rented, some we will build) If the costume rental contract includes cleaning before returning costumes, each cast member will be responsible for cleaning their costumes before checking them back in.   
  • Students that are going to participate can start selling Program Ads this summer to offset the production/costume costs.  Go to "Forms" on this web site and once the links are activated, you can download ad sale forms, receipt forms, bio forms, etc-So keep watching this site. I have to update the forms and will activate the links as soon as I get information updated for the 2010-2011 year.
  • Check the website often for Musical updates throughout the summer and during the school year.
  • Students wanting to be on the Technical Crew for the production should e-mail denton.davies@leanderisd.org and let him know of your interest and show up to one of the audition days.  In fact, we could use Tech student help at the auditions.  So, let us know if you can stay one of the days to help.
